The Gramercy Tavern is a very high end restaurant and bar, unusual in that it stocks a number of specially aged bottles going back as far as 1998 at the time of writing. Formal but ambient, it is situated in a high class area just off Park Avenue South. As would be expected, prices reflect both the neighbourhood and the rarity value of many of the beers. 'Posh' is an understatement to describe this lavish tavern. Interestingly, former US president Theodore Roosevelt was born a few doors away on the same block (at no.28). (10/2015)

This is a high class Michelin starred restaurant with a justifiably excellent reputation for its food over many years, so it's great to see such a focus on beer. There's a short but high quality draft list and a bottled list which includes some vintage beers. You can dine in the more formal dining room at the back or slightly more cheaply in the 'tavern' section at the front.
