Russian-American bar with a dozen taps.

Directions - L train to Grand Street, walk west one block along Grand Street.

A cosy, quite small Russian-American bar with wood-lined walls. The name comes from a Russian folk tale which has been made into a TV series. There are 12 taps, all but one with domestic craft beers - not a huge range but there are usually some good choices. Food is heavily Russian influenced - not much for vegetarians and vegans apart from side dishes and possibly specials. The space was formerly a hardware store, the sign from that incarnation still hangs outside. (11/2015)
