Brooklyn NY 11237
(Bushwick / East Williamsburg)
An excellent, British-managed craft beer bar in a former machine shop space.
Directions - L train to Morgan Avenue, use the east (Morgan Avenue) exit, walk east very briefly on Harrison Place.
Lantern Hall is a great bar which opened in late 2015, uncomplicated in style and with a very well chosen and changing craft beer range. There are no mass-produced products. Housed in a former machine shop space, the feel is still slightly industrial, though in a good way like many other such building conversions. Some relics from the former occupancy decorate the tables. The General Manager, Will, used to run the Craft Beer Company pub in Brighton, England, which I often visit when back in my native city. Small world! Apart from two muted TVs over the bar, there is a large screen (again no sound) at the rear on which, unusually, video games can be played when not in use for showing sporting events, etc. This place is highly recommended, and is right by the Morgan Avenue subway stop.
