Large bar next to the world’s biggest bus station.
Directions – 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal (A / C / E trains) or Times Square-42nd Street (1 / 2 / 3 / 7 / N / Q / R / S / W trains) station complex – all the lines are connected underground. Head to the Port Authority (west) side of the sprawling station if not already there, and look for signs to the West 40th Street exit which is where the bar is on the west side of 8th Avenue. If you see a Chase Bank before you see the bar, look up.

The upstairs area is much bigger than the small bar room on entry (there’s a Chase Bank encroaching on the space at street level), also there is a roof deck. Multiple craft taps and a cask feature. Located next to the World’s biggest bus station (Port Authority), and opposite the towering New York Times Building, not to mention just a stone’s throw from Times Square and the ever bustling Disneyfied tourist trap that is West 42nd Street. Also New York Penn Station is only six blocks down the road. While the craft beer list is very good indeed, it can get busy and a little impersonal despite its relatively large size due to being located literally on the crossroads of Tourist Central and Commuter Central. That said, the staff are friendly when they are not rushed by the hordes. There is a handy subway entrance and exit immediately next door, on 40th Street and 8th Avenue. (11/2014)

With over 60 drafts this place should be a whole lot better than it is; as sister pub to Rattle ‘n’ Hum we were expecting more. Cavernous, with TVs blaring sport, and indifferent service. It also needs to decide if it's a restaurant with beer or a beer place with food. But you will find plenty of good beer here. Hope it improves.
