Uber-carnivore North/South Carolina BBQ place with outstanding beer.
Directions – L train to Morgan Avenue, exit at the Morgan Avenue (east) end, walk north over the railway crossing to the junction of Scholes Street.
This North/South Carolina-style barbecue restaurant is located in an anonymous, mural covered old industrial space in a gritty part of Bushwick. The L-shaped bar top is made of blackened wood which gives a rustic feel to an otherwise urban setting. There is an open plan kitchen at the back where whole hogs (amongst other meat dishes) are roasted. There’s a projector screen opposite the bar counter. The beer range here is worth the trip out to Morgan Avenue. (3/2015) ... Update 8/2017 - The beer range has gone down (a few macros on tap now), but at least there is a vegetarian option to eat now (mac and cheese with a waffle on top).
