Smart beer bar adjoining the Holiday Inn, newer sister to the Rattle 'n' Hum near the Empire State Building.

Directions – 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal (A / C / E trains) or Times Square-42nd Street (1 / 2 / 3 / 7 / N / Q / R / S / W trains) station complex – all the lines are connected underground. Head to the Port Authority (west) side of the sprawling station if not already there, and look for signs to the West 40th Street exit, then walk south on 8th Avenue for one short block, turn right briefly on West 39th Street.

Midtown East's popular Rattle 'n' Hum craft beer bar got a sister in December 2015, situated in the shadows of the Port Authority bus station and the towering New York Times Building. The large front bar space is on split levels, while at the rear there is a partially hidden area with more seats and tables. Also towards the back there is an internal connection with the lobby of The Holiday Inn. The 40 taps, in fashion with the original Rattle 'n' Hum, almost exclusively pour rotating craft beers. The left wall has an impressive line of brewery logo murals. Very worthy. (12/2015)

The beer range here is very good, with lots of good stuff on draft. Food is also pretty good. Big barn of a place and perhaps lacking in atmosphere a bit? Not quite sure this space works as well as the 33rd Street original.
