Excellent suburban brewpub with an Irish pub feel, beer is high quality. Cask Marque accredited.

Directions - Extremely close to the G train at Nassau Avenue (at the southern, Nassau Avenue exit), walk east for 20 seconds. B43, B48, and B62 buses are very close also.

A vast wall of vintage beer cans and bare wood beams are the first things you’ll see on entering this bar-turned-brewpub with Irish roots and friendly, attentive staff. Up to 12 beers brewed in the cellar are available, plus a few guests (not all craft unfortunately as they need to cater for the less adventurous locals, many of whom are of Polish ancestry and are brand loyal to Zywiec or similar). The brewer here tends to brew something new as often as he can – and the quality is high. Decent bar food is available through the day and is reasonably priced, as are the beers (especially during happy hour, many are $4). Their two cask lines have earned them the coveted Cask Marque quality award, one of only four (original) accreditations in the city. Relaxed (except on occasions when there is a major sports game on the TV – otherwise usually the TVs are on but with sound muted) and totally unpretentious. There is also a pleasant back yard which is popular in warmer months. (3/2015)

30 seconds walk from Torst in Greenpoint. About 20 rotating craft beers on tap and two casks. Cask Marque accredited. Just a few steps from the G train at Nassau Avenue. Now a brewpub and brewing some very good beers - we were really impressed by our Green Eyes IPA on our April 2016 visit. We were less enthusiastic about the service though: on receiving a 'pint' glass only about two thirds full, I politely asked if it could be topped up. I was disappointed to receive a very grumpy response from the bartender, which I felt was completely out of order. He did put some more beer in, but reluctantly. We left after finishing said beer. It's a shame, as the beer is great and this place could be really, really good.

Back to the pub search.
