This sparsely decorated, marble embellished Scandinavian style craft beer bar spared no expense on the tap system. The 21 unmarked handles all have individual temperature and flow controls always adjusted to best suit the beer of the moment. While it could be said that all the fanfare and geekery about this place since it opened could be overhyped, it truly does have one of the most eclectic and high end beer lists in the city, with 21 taps and a very large number of bottles. Several Evil Twin beers are always on tap, Evil Twin being run by the twin brother of Mikkel of the better known Mikkeller (interestingly, you will never see Mikkeller here as the two brothers despise each other!). Prices can be high however, but that is reflected in the quality and rareness of what’s on offer. A small restaurant on premises can be accessed through an internal door, called Luksus – don’t get confused with a nearby shop with that name. When visiting, compare with The Keg & Lantern Brewing Company a few steps round the corner – both places are world class but worlds apart in their respective concepts. Take the G train to Nassau Avenue, southern (Nassau) exit from the platforms. Also, the B43 and B62 buses stop directly outside. (11/2014)

Classy and stylish specialist beer bar part owned by the Evil Twin. Superb selection of beers on a very high quality list and friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Minimalist decor. Gorgeous glassware. Everything about this place is done extremely well. The restaurant down the back (Luksus) is the world’s first restaurant with only a beer list (i.e. no wine list) to be awarded a Michelin star.
