This is the original Barcade which is situated in a former vehicle repair garage. It’s cavernous and industrial, even down to a sealed concrete bar surface that could double as something out of a morgue. The whole concept is of 1980s era arcade games and all American craft beers plus a cask. There are no bottles whatsoever, nor are any of the taps wasted on mass produced stuff – meaning all the kids that come in to play the games have to drink craft if they want beer, which has probably introduced thousands of twenty-somethings on to the better things in life. There’s plenty of space but it can get very busy with a mainly young crowd, especially weekend evenings. There are occasional tap takeovers and theme nights. While the taps are all great, a proportion tend to be mainly from certain breweries which seem to have dedicated tap lines or at least are committed to a regular supply. No wifi. (1/2015)

Outstanding Williamsburg beer bar with retro video games and great beer. C.25 drafts, including many really excellent choices and periodic special events. One of the top 3 bars in NY in my view.
